Good news for Fairfield and Bay Area residents! Republic Services has announced that a tentative agreement has been reached with Teamsters Local 439, the union representing workers at Forward Landfill.

“Local 439 has informed us that picket lines are coming down across the Bay Area, and our employees are returning to work tomorrow,” Republic Services said in a statement to Power88.FM.
This update signals an end to the week-long garbage and recycling service disruptions that impacted thousands of homes in Fairfield and surrounding areas.
Republic Services added:
“We appreciate the community’s patience throughout this situation, and we will work hard to catch up with needed recycling and waste collection as quickly as we can.”
Residents are encouraged to continue leaving bins out for pickup as normal service begins to ramp back up starting tomorrow.
Power88.FM will continue to provide updates as crews make progress throughout Solano County.
