West Texas Street Lane Closures

The City of Fairfield's contractor, Ghilotti Brothers, has begun lane closures along West Texas Street as part of the West Texas Street Complete Streets project. This work will bring expanded sidewalks, new bike lanes, updated lighting, and fire hydrants—enhancing safety, accessibility, and the overall look and feel of the corridor.

Please note that once the lanes are closed, they will not reopen, as West Texas Street will be permanently reconfigured to one lane in each direction. The closure schedule is as follows:

Westbound Right lane from Pennsylvania Ave. to 5th Street: Partial closure begins July 28, with full closure by August 8

Westbound Right lane from 5th Street to Beck Ave.: Partial closure begins August 4, with full closure by August 8

Eastbound Right lane from Pennsylvania Ave. to Beck Ave.: Partial closure begins August 6, with full closure by August 15

Important Note: Driveway access to businesses will remain open throughout the project. Temporary driveways or alternate access routes will be provided to ensure continued entry.
